Michelle Antonisse is an LA-based artist and educator. She currently works with The Museum of Contemporary Art (MOCA), The Norton Simon Museum and Angel’s Gate Cultural Center to design and faciltate museum tours, professional development trainings, and drop-in events. In all of these roles, Michelle values conversational and inquiry based teaching, reflective process, and community building. In the past, she has worked with organizations like Burgundy Center for Wildlife Studies, The National Children's Museum, Honduras Children, Los Angeles Public Libraries, and China's Hangzhou University of Commerce in China to develop programming that highlights and explores concepts of art and environment for children of diverse backgrounds and ages.
Michelle holds a BA in Art History from Bard College and attended the Gerrit Rietveld Academie for conceptual art in Amsterdam. In her art practice, Michelle explores natural ecologies and spatial narratives through social practice, painting, performance and digital media. Michelle’s artwork has been shown at Angel’s Gate Cultural Center, Human Resources LA, El Segundo Museum of Art (ESMoA), Ghebaly Gallery and Eyebeam Gallery.
